The Command

I blink. Where is this red blinking light coming from? There was a soccer game on TV, wasn’t there? And what noise is that? The door of the living room is ripped open. stefmaus barks: “FTF-ALERT! Two! In Ketsch! Just five minutes ago! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!” I feel adrenaline flooding my veins and get awake instantly.

Preparation

I run to the office. “The devices!” stefmaus throws them over. Five seconds later they are attached to the USB cables and turned on. I open the mails, click the links and upload the GPX-files to the devices. Stefmaus got dressed up meanwhile and grabs the car GPS. “I wait in the car and prepare the car GPS.” All I see is the dust she throws up. She took the devices.

Now I run to the bed room. Pants. I need pants. All pants in the washing machine. Damn. Thanks rain on our Ansbach tour. In the drawer I finally find some pants. Back to the office. Pick up shoes on the way and put them on. Ankle nearly sprained. Lucky me. Phew.

Picked up wallet and mobile phone. Took keys out of inside lock and put them into lock on the other side. Locked door. Jogged to the car easily. Calm down. Reduce pulse. Don’t speed. Don’t speet. Don’t speed. Speed limt 30 km/h. Whatever. Don’t speed. Don’t speed.

Arrival at Bruchblick

When we turned around the corner stefmaus has already taken off the safety belt. I didn’t stop fully, then she jumps out of the car and runs to the direction. I turn around the car and parked. There she holds up the box already. Excellent. I stop the car by her.

The Confusion

„Now?“ I ask. „I don’t know. There is already something written.“ „Come in.“ We are checking the log. Test find. Test run. What’s that? Who cares? No FTF. Cool. Than we are the FTF. She logs fast at 7:17pm. I enter the coordinates of number two in the car GPS. While stefmaus hides the box another car arrives with a couple. The woman driving grins and looks knowingly. I show thumbs up. She hesitates, grins more, waves. Hesitates again and turns into our street finally. „Ha!“ I think. „Way free to the next one.“ Stefmaus jumps into the car and off we drive.

Arrival at Anglersee – der einzig Wahre

Virtually on location there is a free parking space. I drive in and get out of the car. No good parking. Who cares? I select the cache in the device. Eh, we have to go back? Short confusion. Okay, we passed it. Ahhh, there are branches piled up. They have thorns. That hurts. So it’s no T1?

Well, the box has not been there, but we found it a few seconds later and logged at 7:25pm. Again a test find and test run. And another FTF.

Back at Bruchblick

We look for a nice spot here. Maybe we can scare the Count again. Or meet Feldsalat. Hmmm. Noone’s coming. Where are they?

Two FTFs at one day. Very nice. Thank you!

Found with stefmaus.

This event was even better than the first one, because we already knew most of the folks from the first event. It was a lot of fun again to see new geocoins, save their codes for discovery alter and talk to the people. Kudos and thanks to Big-Red-One for hosting it.

Christian, one half of hzoi, gave us a custom made geocoin he and Kelly designed with their nickname. It looks really really great. We already saw the test sample at the last event and were stunned. Thank you very much for the coin! We love it! Unfortunately Kelly, the other half of hzoi, couldn’t come. We hope to meet her at the next event.

After the event, Big-Red-One joined us discovering a great cache. The owners set a starting point and made us following the way of an escapee of a robbery. They led us by traffic signs and turns to the hide of the robbery.

The last bit of the way to the cache was along a field with loads of branches. Of course being three we took only one flashlight (thanks to me, that we had at least one with us ) and left the other seven in the cars. Yeah!

We discovered the cache fast, logged it and Big-Red-One left a travelbug.

The next MAGC event is probably held a two hour drive away. We are already looking forward to it and can’t wait to meet the people again.

At the next day, Steffi and I noticed that hzoi had found all of our caches at Saturday. This makes Christian the first one to find all of our caches. Congratulations!
