USS Trailblazer: A Diplomatic Mission at the MAGC event
Captains Log
Stardate 2010.0626
Today we had orders to represent the Federation at a MAGC event in the Mannheim sector. It was the first one in Germany since the former chapter lead left. For this mission headquarters assigned us my new XO. Commander Sanek joined the away team.
Commander AltGofur was assigned as host to this event. Lieutenant Mom of Germaricans served as co-host. Lieutenant Commander stefmaus supported him and translated the descriptions of two multi caches in the area.
First action of the agenda was an appetizer event for the actual event. This we were not allowed to publish because of local regulations. When we arrived at the meeting location the crew of Semmels123 already was waiting.
While we were talking wingman70 with his dog Mario and GeoMatt11 arrived. Both signed up for the pre-caching event. As the group was complete now we headed out to find some caches before getting to the main event.
The first cache we looked for was from a series about Harry Potter. I am glad that we brought some Harry Potter addicts, because most of my crew and I would have been lost. Commander AltGofur found some of the great stages. The Harry Potter addicts really enjoyed the cache and even we not-so-much addicts had a great time with great stages.
At the final the Commander was late because he decided to bushwack with the guys, while the girls took the boring trail. The plants were thicker than they thought, so we arrived late. But the ladies were wrong on the code to open it, so we could enjoy that moment together.
The second multi cache was called embracing trees. Now guess where the cache was hidden. Commander AltGofur forgot to take a picture of it. I will not add a reprimand to his file for this mistake.
Embracing trees was a rather fast multi we did without the kids (which is why it might have been so fast). We found all stations well, even though some of the English descriptions were a bit misleading.
After logging cache we hurried to the location of the main event and arrived just in time. No one was there yet but Lieutenant Commander stefmaus. Now, that was good as Commander AltGofur now could serve as host as diplomatic protocols required.
It was a fun event, with most of the signed up people being there and even some unexpected participants.
The 3 Strolche (we met them on two FTF attempts) were at the location. They didn’t know that there was an event, but of course they logged and even discovered some travel bugs. Back then their son was a new born. He got a big boy meanwhile.
Commander Sanek and I had some fun with Chief of the Boat Dad of Semmels123 and Ships Counselor Mom of Semmels123.
This diplomatic mission was a full success. We all found some new friends we hope to meet again soon. Hopefully before the next event in fall.
